Katherine Heigl is open about growing up living in "a white bubble." She also explains the impact that this realization has had on the parenting style of her adopted children who are multi-racial. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said recent interview that, when it comes to skin colour there is no difference. But after speaking to her sister, who was adopted from South Korea she realized just the way society views people of different races. In my interview, I asked Meg about how she was treated when in public, regardless of whether we were with our parents, it was distinct. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl addressed Parents about the moment she realised her ignorance. She said that she was upset and believed it was important to focus her anger towards helping her adoptee daughters. Heigl has a four year old son who is married to her 13 year old husband, Josh Kelley. In 2009, the couple adopted Nancy Leigh (12), an adopted daughter from South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in the year 2012.
