Her goal was to attract the interest of politicians and encourage them to act to reduce the effects of global warming. Swedish media captured Thunbergs' strike and her message was widely shared. Thousands of students around the globe took part in her #FridaysforFuture-inspired strike. They skipped classes on Fridays to protest the effects of climate changes. Climate activists from across the globe organized the inaugural Global Strike for Climate in the year 2019. It was hugely successful; over 1.6million participants from more than 125 countries joined.

Nia Peeples, born Virenia Gawendolynpeeples in America, is an American actress and singer. She is known for her character of Pam Fields (in the drama Pretty Little Liars) and Nicole Chapman (on the show Fame).
