Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents were dentists as well as a teacher recognized and backed her love for theatre and drama from a young age which was more important than a desire to be a primatologist due to her fascination with monkeys. It was a quick rise for her to be a well-known young actress. It was only in 1999, when she started acting professionally. Audrey Tautou's global recognition and popularity exploded after her role in the film as Amelie Poulain's main actress in the film Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie. Amelie received international recognition for its box office success. It was also praised at awards ceremonies across the world. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to date in the US. Later, in the same year, she appeared in British dramas, including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Junet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. After that, Tautou went to Hollywood to work in Hollywood, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
