Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12th November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. First gymnast in history to achieve a score of 10 in a competition at the Olympics. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci at just seven years old. At first, she competed in the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. And in 1970, won. In her first international competition in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. In 1975 she was awarded 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman in history to complete a backward double salto as dismounting from the uneven bars parallel to each other. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment business as a performer as a figure skater. Along with her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her career in the world of entertainment when she was a teenager. In her early years, Carol began as a figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating shows.
